B Sharps has named Scotty Barnhart Tallahassee's Local Jazz Hero for 2013. Scotty's career and his work with students has proven to be significant in the world of Jazz. We have joined the Jazz Journalists Association's Global effort to recognize the importance of Jazz at the local levels. A part of this is to identify those whose efforts have been instrumental in the propagation of Jazz throughout their communities. Scotty is one such person, and we believe it is important to honor those who have worked their whole lives to master their instrument and to share that mastery with the world. Of Course Scotty Barnhart personifies everything the JJA is trying to do.

April 15, This Monday from 5 - 8, we will gather at the Club to congratulate Scotty and to celebrate him and Jazz April. The party is free and we look forward to having you! We will supply the Party Food and Drink. Hope you can come. The JJA has arranged with the brewers to send some complementary Brother Thelonius Ale. So we hope you'll swing by for a few and say "congrats" to Scotty!
