I checked with a couple of close friends, who are even marked as such in the Facebook options, and I can't invite them.
The ratio of me requesting friends to being requested for the almost five thousand friends of Jazz & Blues Florida is probably in the 1:25 or larger area. People have requested to be friends for exactly the reason Facebook is blocking the communication. If you are one of those people, how do YOU feel about Facebook making decisions for you?
When we have put out this event notice previously, we have had over a 10% acceptance response. I think that is pretty darn large for Facebook events, by anyone.
Abusive? Well, we do this only once a month, and EVERYONE can unfriend us at anytime if they don't even want that, so abuse doesn't seem like it should be a concern/issue here.
Maybe Facebook is mad just because we are really, really good at using the service they provide and they can't figure out how to do that themselves.
