A brilliant singer/songwriter, known simply as MELANIE, burst onto the folk scene at Woodstock in 1969, inspiring the flower-power generation with her evocative lyrics and mesmerizing voice. Voted the top female vocalist by Billboard in 1972, Melanie's string of hits includes "Brand New Key," "Look What They Done To My Song, Ma," "Ruby Tuesday" and the Woodstock inspired song, "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)".
