World-class
singer, guitarist and songwriter Allan Harris has music running through his
veins. Perhaps best known for his interpretations of jazz standards, Allan’s
smooth vocals and guitar styling easily cross genres, from jazz to rock to blues.
He is a three-time recipient of the New York Nightlife Award for “Outstanding
Jazz Vocalist,” and Tony Bennett calls Allan “my favorite singer.” Allan has
cultivated a global following, playing for packed audiences and receiving
outstanding reviews throughout the United States ,
Europe, Russia and the Far East .

Ted
Rosenthal has performed worldwide as a soloist, leader and sideman with many
jazz greats, including Gerry Mulligan, Art Farmer, Phil Woods, Bob Brookmeyer,
James Moody and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. Winner of the 1988 Thelonious Monk
International Jazz Piano Competition, Rosenthal has released twelve CDs as a
leader; his latest, “Impromptu,” features jazz reimaginings of classical
themes. His solo album, The 3 B’s received four stars from DownBeat magazine.
He has also been a featured soloist with orchestras including the Detroit

Hailing
from the remote location of Perth, West Australia, saxophonist and composer
Troy Roberts has won four consecutive Downbeat Jazz Soloist Awards, two
consecutive West Australian Music Industry Awards was the only Australian
finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition,
received his first Grammy Nomination Medal, and has shared the stage with
greats such as Sammy Figueroa, James Morrison, Stephen Scott, Slide Hampton,
Bobby Sparks, Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton. More recently, Troy represented
Australia, sharing the stage as part of an international band made up of jazz
greats Wayne Shorter, Richard Bona, Vinnie Colaiuta, Zakir Hussain, Tineke
Postma and Tarek Yamani for Herbie Hancock’s launch of the first ever UNESCO
International Jazz Day at The UN Assembly Hall, NYC. Having been on faculty at
The University of Miami for the past 3 years, Troy
is currently based in New York

Rose Max
has music in her blood. She is the great-granddaughter of the conductor and
composer Cupertino de Menezes and granddaughter of the guitar player and
composer Manuel de Menezes. Gifted with a beautiful voice early on, Rose got
her start singing in the nightclub-heavy Rio
de Janeiro United States USA Brazil native who
has garnered attention stateside as the Brazilian Press Award winner for “Best
Brazilian Musician,” and “Best Brazilian Producer” living in the United States Rio
wherever they go.

The Lauren
Mitchell Band, featuring front-woman Mitchell’s galvanizing vocals backed by
the talents of veteran rock and blues artists, has roared on to the South Florida arts scene with undeniable ferocity. The
group was born in 2005 when Lauren Mitchell teamed up with keyboard sensation
Mike Hensley to create a sound that celebrated everything they loved about
blues, soul, and rock. Since then, the band has incorporated the best talent it
can find, to bring audiences a sound that is fresh and exciting.

Ed Calle
Saxophonist
Ed Calle is one of the most sought-after instrumentalists in the business.
Known for his versatility, Calle easily shifts between bebop, contemporary and
Latin jazz, and pop. He appears on Grammy-award-winning albums by Frank
Sinatra, Vicky Carr, Arturo Sandoval, and Jon Secada, as well as on numerous
television and motion picture soundtracks. He also has recorded and performed
around the world with such artists as Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, Michael
Bolton, Bobby Caldwell, and Rhianna. Among his many solo recordings, Ed Calle
Plays Santana garnered a Latin Grammy Award nomination in 2005. His latest
release In the Zone features original compositions and jazz standards and
earned a Latin Grammy nomination. Now he
returns to Arts Garage for a performance that promises to pack a punch and
appeal to fans of a various genres.

Dan Miller
Dan Miller
built his reputation touring and recording with Harry Connick Jr., Wynton
Marsalis and Maynard Ferguson, working as a jazz trumpet player in NYC since
1991. He brings together a tremendous group of musicians he’s worked with
through the years including NYC bassist Ben Wolfe (Wynton Marsalis, Harry
Connick Jr., Diana Krall), tenor saxophonist Lew Del Gatto (Saturday Night Live
Band 1975-2005), pianist Doug Bickel (Arturo Sandoval), guitarist Dan Heck and
drummer Ron Hefner for a hard swinging evening of the music of Thelonious Monk,
Dizzy Gillespiie and the critically acclaimed compositions of Ben Wolfe. Miller teams up with saxophonist Lew Del
Gatto who spent over two decades on the stage of Saturday Night Live as part of
the SNL band. The duo’s fat, brassy sound is complemented by the dulcet be-bop
tones of bassist Ben Wolfe, who has played alongside Wynton Marsalis, Harry
Connick Jr., and Diana Krall.

Oriente
Fusing
Cuban roots with New Orleans-style jazz, Caribbean and Brazilian influences and
conceived by Cuban-born guitarist/composer Eddy Balzola, the group’s signature
sound features funky, guitar driven tumbaos, blazing harmonic brass, and
explosive Afro-Latin percussion. Tired
of touring with reggae, Latin, and show bands, Balzola wanted to create a group
the celebrated a sound that was all its own. He joined the talents of Stuart
King (trumpet/percussion), William Paredes (trombone), Yoel Del Sol
(multi-percussion), Pepe Aparicio (bass) and Orlando Machado (drums/percussion)
and created an inimitable sound that rouses audiences and leaves them toe
tapping and begging for more.
