Since September of this year star percussionist Sammy Figueroa has been celebrating ten years as the leader of the Latin Jazz Explosion, one of the world's premiere Latin jazz bands.  The band debuted at the Hollywood Jazz Festival in November 2002.  But first they found their sound playing informal nights at The Van Dyke in South Beach, a magical musical room.  These nights continued on a regular basis over the past decade, whenever Sammy was in town.  Over the years the band has gone on to release two Grammy® Nominated albums, played many festivals and concerts, acquiring fans from all over the world.

After ten years of regular shows at The Van Dyke Sammy and the Explosion have decided to move on.  For now, this is the last show at The Van Dyke.  Come join Sammy and the band this Saturday night as they recap music from their three albums.   The band's original pianist, Michael Orta, will play the first set. Look your best -- the evening will be filmed!
