Footsteps to the Future presents Jazzin’ It Up! An electrifying evening of great jazz entertainment on Thursday June 14, 2012 at the historic Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers.  The concert, benefiting Footsteps to the Future, will feature Dan Miller,  NYC jazz trumpeter who toured and recorded with Harry Connick Jr., Maynard Ferguson, Wynton Marsalis, Tom Jones and Woody Herman. Lew Del Gatto tenor saxophonist ,who worked and recorded in NYC for over forty years and was a member of the Saturday Night Live Band from 1975 – 2005. Glenn Basham, Virtuoso violinist  the concertmaster for the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of the artist faculty at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, also serves as the first violinist in the Bergonzi String Quartet.  Jazz guitarist Dan Heck, a graduate of the Berklee School of Music who made his mark on the jazz scenes of NYC and Seattle playing and recording with Joe Doria, Thomas Marriott and Jay Thomas. The world-class rhythm section features pianist Jerry Stawski, bassist Paul Stewchuk and drummer Ron Hefner. Singer/songwriter Susie Hulcher will be the featured vocalist .

The  Jazzin’ It Up concert will benefit Footsteps to the Future, Inc, a unique evidence based mentoring program in Lee and Collier Counties ; a model for change in Southwest Florida and the Nation. ootsteps goal is to empower young women in and aging out of foster care, to safely and successfully transition to living independently and to become self-sufficient  through programs such as mentoring, academic achievement, employment partnerships and advocacy.

The event will be held at the historic Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center,
2301 First Street, Fort Myers
, on Thursday June 14th  at 6: 30  p.m. The VIP Reception to meet musicians  and more  begins at 5: 00  p.m.  The event also features a Silent Auction , a Mystery Box raffle and a Fabulous Dessert Raffle. You will also be delighted with  sweet treats  from Tina at CC Connections, meet the Suds' MaMa's and get a sample of their beautiful hand made, one of a kind soaps created especially for this concert. To add to the fun ,there will also be a Cigar Roller there demonstrating this old art of cigar making. Get your picture taken with the Calendar Girls and your favorite musicians!! The Footsteps Signature Jazz-a-Tini will be featured at the cash bar which will be open all evening for people to enjoy while listening  to some of the most exciting Jazz music offered in SW Florida!! 

The VIP tickets ($50 each with 2 for $85 ) include a reception for our special guests where they can chat and mingle with the awesome musicians. There is Preferred Seating for VIP ticket holders and a limited number of 4 and 8 top tables that can be reserved. At the reception from 5: 00  to 6:00 there will be an gourmet appetizer buffet featuring the culinary delights of Chef Brian Baker of the famous Roadhouse Cafe, along with seafood from Trico Shrimp!  General Admission tickets are $25, or two for $45.
