Albert Castiglia was at the Big Easy on Hollywood Blvd. last night. I was there with Flo. Lots of the guys and gals we know from the "Blues Joints" around town and "The South Florida Blues Society" were there too. Were they having a good time, you ask? With Albert pickin' and singin' could you have anything else. This South Florida habitue stands up and stands out. His repertoire continues to grow with time. Whenever he returns from a "road trip" there are new things introduces including a Miles Davis tune I had never heard him do before. We had a chance to chat for a moment and I mentioned his playing of "odd" chords which I love. He looked at me kinda funny and smiled a knowing smile. We stayed up way too late but couldn't leave the music. Albert is a true leader in the field of today's blues musicians while he continues to pay homage to the past. Catch him if you can. See ya around!!
