An Evening with Bill Mays to Benefit Jupiter Music Students

Jupiter Performing Arts Fund presents “Mays At The Movies” on February 18, 2012, 7-10 pm. at the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta.

Join us for a special night with legendary pianist, composer, & recording artist Bill Mays along with Marty Morell on drums & Richard Drexler on bass.

Bill has played alongside Sarah Vaughan, Woody Herman and Frank Sinatra and will be performing excerpts from original movie scores as well as other scores to which he has contributed. Some of the many movies in which Bill has performed include Charade, The Sandpiper, Spartacus, Julie and Julia, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factor &, Fargo.

Jupiter Performing Arts Fund is a not-for-profit organization formed for the purpose of encouraging, promoting and supporting music in the Jupiter public schools. Students who play a musical instrument have a higher level of academic achievement, concentration and sense of confidence while building valuable social skills in teamwork, communication and leadership.
To date, JPAF has donated $25,000 of used musical instruments through its “New Life for Old Notes” program.

JPAF has also provided $40,000 for scholarships, artists in residence, new instruments, commissioned music and other unbudgeted items to enhance Jupiter school music programs and help students grow musically & academically.

The Jupiter Performing Arts Fund, Inc. was formed for the purpose of encouraging, promoting and supporting music within the public education system in the Jupiter, Florida area. The mission of this not-for-profit organization is to enhance the music departments and help music students move up the ladder of success by providing instruments, artists in residence, music clinicians, scholarships and provide resources for students to advance. Through sponsors, grants and our "New Life for Old Notes" program, we hope to help wherever unavailable, reduced or restricted funding prohibits students from succeeding to their full musical potential.
