Bayshore CAPA Jazz Series Begins Nov 20, 2011 in Naples Florida

JAZZ IN THE PARK SERIES ANNOUNCED
Rare opportunity to hear some of Collier County's most creative
jazz musicians, most of whom are national recording and
performing artists!


Jazz in the Park concerts are free and open to the public. 
On-site parking is $5.  Concerts are scheduled from 2-4 p.m.
on the third Sunday of each month, November 2011 through
April 2012, at Sugden Regional Park in Naples, Florida

Scheduled performances:

November 20, 2011--Patricia Dean Trio
  
Patricia Dean is one of the few artists in the history of jazz who
plays drums and sings, and does both exceptionally well.
She has performed with Jazz legends Nat Adderley,
Ira Sullivan, John LaPorta, Brazilian pianist Manfred Fest
and saxophonist Bobby Militello.  She opened for smooth
Jazz artists Mindi Abair and David Benoit at the
2011 Punta Gorda Wine and Jazz Fest.


December 18, 2011--Jerry Stawski Quartet

Jerry Stawski helped found the jazz school of his
alma mater, Florida State University.  People who buy
QRS piano rolls are actually hearing Stawski's arrangements
of composers such as Harold Arlen and of songs that defined
Frank Sinatra.  He plays regularly at both the
Ritz-Carlton Resorts in Naples.


January 15, 2012--Bob Zottola EJB Quintet

Bob Zottola has performed with the Air Force's Airmen of Note,
Charlie Barnet, Maynard Ferguson and Woody Herman.
recorded and toured with keyboard legend Chick Corea,
and beginning in the early 1980s, played in Frank Sinatra's
New York band.  Before moving to Naples, he played for the
Broadway show, "Les Miserables" for 16 years.  


February 19, 2012--Dan Heck Trio
   
Dan Heck is a jazz guitarist/bassist and composer
currently living in Naples.  His very musical parents
encouraged him to pursue music beginning with cello at
age four.  He was playing bass in bands by third grade and
playing guitar for jobs around Long Island in his early teens.
He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has been
a professional musician for over 20 years in Boston, New York,
Paris and Seattle.  He has performed at many prestigious
venues around the world including the Blue Note in New York
and the Space Needle in Seattle.  He can be heard on dozens
of recordings as both sideman and leader and is co-founder of
the award winning Seattle jazz ensemble, Bebop and Destruction.
Dan's playing is best described as "modern jazz" with a heavy

March 18, 2012--Jebry and Friends Quintet

Jebry has sung with such greats as Bobby McFerrin,
Wes Montgomery, Kenny Drew Jr., Lionel Hampton, and
he great Harry James.  She has traveled around the world
working clubs and jazz festivals, and continues to sell out
concerts in Naples where she currently resides.


April 15, 2012--David Pringle Trio

David Pringle is an internationally renowned pianist,
director, composer and arranger.  He was music director
for Oscar Peterson in "Jazz at the Gateway," a 16-part TV
series.  He was awarded the gold medal for the New York
International Film and TV Festival and piano soloist and
conductor on 10 music CD's.
