Hernando County Parks & Recreation will hold the third annual Bluesapalooza music festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18, 2011. The festival will be held at Linda Pedersen Park, 6300 Shoal Line Blvd, Hernando Beach, FL 34607. Admission is $5 per person per day for general admission. Children 11 and under are admitted free of charge. VIP tickets are available for $20 per day or $30 for both days if purchased in advance. Day of event will be an additional $5 fee. VIP passes will be provided covered eating area, scheduled access to bands, misting tent and limited access beverage line and facility use.
This year’s entertainment includes Blues and Southern rock, surely to make your feet tap and booty shake. Saturday at noon, Franc Robert and the Box Car Tourists kick off the show. They are followed by Josh Lamkin & Automatic Heat at 2pm, The Sean Chambers Band at 4pm and the headlining at 6pm the Damon Fowler Group. Saturday night, The Roy Sites Band will be performing an after party at the Pit’s Lounge in Brooksville beginning at 8:30pm. Sunday morning kicks off with a Poker Run with A.P.A.C.K inc at 8:30am at the VFW Post 8713, Brooksville. Kick stands up at 9:30am. Ride will finish at the festival. At noon, Neon Truckers will open the show. Motorcycles will arrive between 1-1:30pm, followed by more music from Neon Truckers. Headlining our Southern Rock Sunday is Jacksonville’s hottest band, Rosco Caine, who go on at 3pm for two sets of swampy southern rock. Times are Saturday 12-8pm and Sunday 12-6pm.
The beautiful park is located just off the Gulf of Mexico with spectacular sunsets, sandy beach area, playground, huge oak trees and occasional manatee sightings. We do recommend that you bring sunscreen, bug spray, chairs or blankets for seating. Small pop up tents and umbrellas are allowed. Please remember there are no pets allowed in the park as well as no outside coolers, food or drink.
