The K LoungeMoonlight Jazz @ The Kampong presents
Acclaimed Jazz vocalist Michelle Manzo

Join us on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 8:00PM for the opening concert of the Moonlight Jazz @The Kampong series, featuring the seductive music of jazz vocalist Michelle Manzo. Ms. Manzo has a powerhouse voice and great style, and, as Bob Belden put it, “She is the only singer I know who can bridge the gap between Celia Cruz and Sarah Vaughan.”

An electrifying performer, the beautiful Michelle Manzo has a warm voice and a four-octave range. Born and raised in Miami, Manzo fulfilled a dream when she moved to New York in 2003, and has recently returned to her hometown to perform while still maintaining her New York commitments. She is currently recording a contemporary Latin album with tinges of jazz and R&B.

This concert marks the beginning of the second season of Moonlight Jazz @ The Kampong, in the performance pavilion which is surrounded on two sides by the lush gardens of The Kampong.

“If you are looking for a place to enjoy an evening of fine live jazz with other aficionados, where atmosphere and style combine with superb acoustics, then come and experience the K Lounge, “ said Vivianne Swietelsky, Chair of the Moonlight Concert committee. “Both artists and audience members have told me that they love the wonderful intimacy of the K Lounge and that no other venue in Miami can compare,” she added.

When asked about her upcoming engagement at the K Lounge, Ms. Manzo said, "I am thrilled to perform at the beautiful Kampong K Lounge…such a gorgeous setting, combined with jazz, will surely become an enchanting getaway. It will definitely be an evening to remember!"

Both Steinway and Sons Piano Gallery and GREY GOOSE Vodka return as concert sponsors. “We are grateful to GREY GOOSE Vodka and Steinway & Sons, as well as many wonderful community volunteers for their help in making this concert possible,” said Ann Parsons, Director of The Kampong. “The Kampong is very pleased to welcome new audiences to this historic garden and home, to enjoy exceptional live performances in a magical setting. Events, such as this concert, open our garden, already a vital source of education and conservation, for even greater enjoyment by South Floridians,” Ms. Parsons continued.

Seating is limited and by reservation only – The K Lounge tickets are $75, which includes table seating and complimentary GREY GOOSE signature cocktails. Tickets may be purchased online at http://kampongevents.ntbg.org/ or by calling The Kampong at 305.442.7169. Gate opens at 8:00PM and the concert begins promptly at 9:00PM.
