Delta Boogie Newsletter - July 2009

Hi,

Monday July 13, it's Essie the Blueslady at KASU Blue Monday in
Newport. Then on the 20th it's Jeannie and The Guys in Paragould. I
hope to see you there.

Speaking of Blue Monday here's a link to a Davis Coen show I recorded
at Blue Monday in Newport on April, 13, 2009. This came out really
good. Thanks to Davis for helping me with the post production.

George and I are playing Thursday, July 30 at the Edge Coffeehouse on
Aggie Road near ASU. The show is from 7-9. Put it on your calendar or
you will forget by the time July 30 rolls around.

And don't forget Rob Alley on Tuesdays and Jazz Alliance on Thursdays
at The Edge.

I bought a Musser M67 xylophone, kind of like a smaller marimbas.
I've been loving it. Back to practicing. Working with two mallets.

A lot of the songs for the Something Blue podcast are hosted at Delta
Boogie Radio. This keeps the playlists churning. I've added songs by
John Shepherd, Larry Donn, Richard Murray, Davis Coen, and Kenny
Crider recently. Link on over and enjoy Delta Boogie Radio.

And here's a link to the Something Blue website where you can hear
much of this same music in podcast format.

I recommend the .m3u playlist files. Winamp works great. There's even
a dialup version for the bandwidth constrained. All the songs are
legal downloads.

Spread the word.

Thanks,
