A Celebration of Community, Family, Freedom and Spirit
Friday, July 3, 2009 2pm - 10pm
Saturday, July 4, 2009 12pm - 10pm
Pinellas Park, Florida

FREEDOMFEST is an annual free community event featuring performances by popular, contemporary musical artists and spectacular fireworks to celebrate community, family, spirit and freedom. Founded in 2006, the event has grown each year, almost doubling in size. An impressive crowd of 20,000 witnessed the FREEDOMFEST celebration in Brooksville, FL in 2008. The event is funded by sponsorships, tent/booth participants, local churches and community groups in an effort to keep it free to the public.

The objective of FREEDOMFEST is to create an annual patriotic celebration of community, family and spirit for all to enjoy free of charge. FREEDOMFEST reaches out to the community with a positive message and unites neighborhoods as well as gives back to the community by promoting and donating to numerous non-profit organizations.

The event is presented by Bay Area Entertainment in association with Faith Tampa Bay, cbgroup Marketing and Event Management and the Tampa Bay Parent Guide.

FREEDOMFEST is honored to welcome the Post 9/11 Foundation to the event. The Post 911 Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to honoring and assisting first responders and veterans who have served our nation in the aftermath of 9/11. They endeavor to create grass roots awareness, community support, and tangible assistance for members of the Military, Government, Police, and Firefighter communities, as well as other great Americans who have answered the call to duty since the attacks of September 11, 2001. Led by Richard J. Miller, an NYPD Emergency Service Unit (ESU) Police officer who was on scene conducting rescue and recovery operations at the World Trade Center. On that fateful morning, Officer Miller raised the first American flag over Ground Zero to rally the first responders and honor his fallen comrades. He hoped that some would be rescued and live to see the American flag. Through their activities, the foundation believes the nation will re-capture the spirit of national unity found in the moments after 9/11 and come together once again to promote peace, pride, and prosperity. In doing so, the foundation hopes to assist those who have served our nation and may be in need, so they will be restored, renewed, and empowered to succeed: “Rebuilding America – One Great American at a Time”

Due to its success and growth, FREEDOMFEST will expand itself from a one-day celebration to a two-day celebration in Pinellas Park. Expected attendance for FREEDOMFEST 2009 is 20,000. The event will reach across both Bay bridges and will receive extensive media coverage and will be supported and promoted by ClearChannel radio stations, Joy 88.1/91.5fm radio, the St. Petersburg Times, The Tampa Tribune and numerous additional media outlets. On Friday, the festival will be alcohol-free. The Pinellas Park stage will host national talent consisting of some of the most popular names in Christian music. An impressive fireworks display is planned at dusk. On Saturday, alcohol will be allowed and festival-goers can witness exciting acts from the secular music genre. In an effort to offer something different and exciting, the day will culminate with an outstanding laser light show. Both days will include nearly 100 booth and tent participants as well as a special family zone.

FREEDOMFEST offers numerous opportunities to organizations for promotion and exposure via the distribution of literature, electronic presentations, media conversion, and unlimited press. Pinellas Park was established as a town back in June of 1914. Forty-five years later it was established as a city on June 19, 1959. Town Square Plaza Park will be the site of the two-day family friendly event, and is located at 5121 80th North Ave in Pinellas Park, FL.

There’s a sunny side to this West Coast community that makes this a true hot spot among the world’s destinations. Naturally there’s lots of water and sunshine. But you’ll also discover an area that’s full of rich arts, professional sports, sights to see and things to do you won’t find anywhere else. Whatever your pleasure, you’ll find it in the Tampa Bay area.

A single day’s itinerary might include breakfast at a waterside cafe, a visit to Busch Gardens Africa, The Florida Aquarium, a streetcar ride to Channelside for shopping, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, or Lightning game, topped off with a stay in one of our luxury hotels or resorts. Then on to historic Ybor City where the Cuban sandwiches are hot and crisp, the cigars are hand-rolled, and the colorful streets are lined with fun.

Tampa Bay also offers white, sugar sand beaches, sport fishing, jet skiing, and parasailing, not to mention the Gasparilla Festival, Dragon Boat Races, the SEC Basketball Tournament and of course, the Super Bowl! Tampa Bay... there’s no better way to experience Florida.
